Functional Neuroimaging of Nimodipine in Healthy Adults
Study Description:
This study will investigate the neural effects of nimodipine, a safe FDA-approved calcium channel blocker, has on brain function. Healthy subjects will perform several simple cognitive and emotional tasks while having their brain activity measured using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). Subjects will have blood drawn to determine their genotype corresponding to a specific calcium channel gene, and subjects with different genetic variants will be grouped together for comparison of fMRI activity. This study will have 30 subjects.
